About NIFT Entrance Exam - National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) conducts Entrance Exam for admission to four year Bachelor of Design (B. Des), Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B. F. Tech.) and two year Master of Design (M. Des), Master of Fashion Management (MFM) and Master of Fashion Technology (M. F. Tech) courses in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kannur, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna, Raebareli, Shillong, Kangra, Jodhpur, Bhubaneswar and Srinagar campuses.

NIFT Entrance 2020 Eligibility - 

For Bachelor Programmes - B.Des. (Fashion Design / Leather Design / Accessory Design / Textile Design / Knitwear Design / Fashion Communication) -

Maximum Age: 23 years as on 1st October 2019. 

Upper Age Relaxation - 5 years for SC/ST/ PWD.

Educational Qualification -

12th Class from any recognized Board.

or

General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB). 

or

Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system. 

or

A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects. 

or

3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production) (B.FTech.) -

12th Class from any recognized Board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 

or

General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / International Baccalaureate (IB). 

or

Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 

or

A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 

or

3 or 4-years diploma in any branch of Engineering recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

For Master Programmes -

Age - No age limit

Educational Qualification - 

M.Des (Master of Design) -

Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from recognized University.

or

Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.

M.F.M (Master of Fashion Management) -

Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from recognized University. 

or

Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.

M.F.Tech. (Master of Fashion Technology) -

B.F.Tech. from NIFT 

or

B.E / B.Tech. from recognized University.

MIFT Entrance Exam 2020 Pattern -

B.Des -

For candidates to the UG Design programmes, the selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT), followed by a situation test to be undertaken by shortlisted candidates of the written examination.

B.FTech -

For candidates to the UG Fashion Technology programme, the selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a General Ability Test (GAT).

M.Des -

For candidates to the PG Design programme, the selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT) followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) for shortlisted candidates of the written examination.

M.F.M.- 

For the M.F.M programme, the selection process comprises of Written test comprising of a General Ability Test (GAT) followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) for shortlisted candidates of the written examination.

M.FTech -

For the M.F.M programme, the selection process comprises of Written test comprising of a General Ability Test (GAT) followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) for shortlisted candidates of the written examination.

Creative Ability Test (CAT) -

This test is administered for both UG and PG Design Programmes to judge the intuitive ability, power of observation in concept development and design ability of the candidate. An important aspect of the test is the creative and innovative use of colour and illustration skills.

Mode of Payment - Credit Cards/Debit Cards and Demand Draft.

The Demand Draft should be issued in favour of “NIFT HO”, payable at New Delhi. 

Candidates applying through Demand Draft are required to send the printout of the Application Form, duly completed in all respects, along with Demand Draft on the following address:
